Arena AI (formerly LMArena) is a community-powered platform created by researchers from UC Berkeley for understanding AI performance in the real world. Tens of millions of builders, researchers, and creative professionals chat with frontier models, compare responses side by side, and vote in anonymous battles to shape public leaderboards for LLMs, image models, code models, and agentic tasks.

How to use Arena AI?

Open Arena AI, choose a mode such as Battle, Side by Side, or Direct, enter a prompt, and interact with the models. In Battle mode, vote for the better anonymous response to contribute to public leaderboard rankings.

How is my feedback used to rank AI models?

Your votes shape model rankings through the Bradley-Terry rating system, similar to the Elo system used in competitive games. The more you vote, the more reliable and representative the leaderboard becomes.

Are the models truly anonymous during voting?

Yes. Models stay anonymous during voting to ensure fairness. Names are revealed immediately after you cast your vote, and only anonymous votes count toward official rankings.

What happens when I vote in Side by Side mode?

In Side by Side mode you select specific named models and matchups are not anonymous. Votes in this mode do not contribute to public leaderboard rankings, but prompts and choices are still collected for research.
