Pic2Quote is an AI price estimator for home repairs. Point your phone at a backsplash, fence, or half-finished basement and the AI reads the photo to estimate cost in under a minute. Built by two homeowners in Denver after getting quotes from $4,100 to $19,800 for the same bathroom remodel.

How to use Pic2Quote?

Upload a photo of the repair or renovation (JPG, PNG, or HEIC, up to 15 MB). The vision model identifies the project, estimates materials and labor from 180,000+ contractor invoices, adjusts for your zip code, and returns a price range with a confidence score. Pay $2.99 per quote or $14/month for unlimited quotes.

Materials, labor hours, and skill level come from a dataset of 180,000+ anonymized contractor invoices, updated monthly for residential repair and renovation.

Regional price adjustment

Both materials and labor are adjusted for your location using BLS wage data plus weekly Home Depot and Lowe's SKU prices across 41,000+ US zip codes.

Confidence-scored quote output

Each quote includes a low-to-high range, materials list with links, labor hour estimate, and a 1–5 confidence score. Quotes below 2/5 confidence are free.

How accurate is it really?

On 1,200+ verified cases where users sent back the actual contractor quote, Pic2Quote landed within 18% on average. Roughly 40% of quotes are within 10%. About 8% are off by more than 30%, mostly when confidence scores are under 3, and those are refunded.

Why isn't this free?

Vision models cost about $0.40 per request, and keeping the pricing dataset current costs more than that. Pic2Quote charges $2.99 to maintain quality rather than offering a free tier that compresses results into something useless.

Do you work outside the US?

Not yet. The pricing dataset is US-only. Materials and labor numbers would be unreliable elsewhere. Canada is targeted for 2026 Q3 and the UK for 2027 Q1.

Are you a contractor marketplace?

No. Your info is never shared with contractors. No contractor pays Pic2Quote, and there is no contractor database—only a pricing dataset.

What happens to my photos?

Photos are processed in-region, kept 90 days so you can review old quotes, then deleted. Pic2Quote does not train models on your pictures or share them with anyone.
